Toy theatre stage front, J Redington
AnonAn original nineteenth century toy theatre stage front designed and printed by John Redington (208 Hoxton Old Town) in 1857, and ‘sold wholesale’ by J Webb, 75 Brick Lane. The sheet was designed to by cut out and attached to card to create a three-dimensional theatre, with sheets of characters and scenery sold separately. The business later became part of the famous Benjamin Pollock's Toy Shop. A higher resolution image is available on request.
