An original promotional map of Antarctica published by the confectioner Mars c.1981. The design features an accurate map of the region (scale 145 miles to the inch), with images supplied by the Royal Geographic Society of famous polar explorers, research centres and wildlife. Possibly published for the anniversary of Roald Engelbregt Gravning Amundsen’s conquest of the South Pole in December 1911. A higher resolution image file is available for viewing on request.
