A significant, original, promotional poster for the American alternative rock band Pixies, which advertises the band’s first single, Gigantic, and a live performance at the Town and Country Club on the band’s first UK headlining tour, 29 September 1988. Gigantic was taken from the Pixies’ first studio album, Surfa Rosa (1988). Original Pixies tour posters from the 1980s are very hard to find, especially in the ‘hoarding size’ (like this example) and for a named venue promoting the band’s first single. The legendary Town & Country Club in Kentish Town, north London, is now known as the O2 Forum Kentish Town. A higher resolution image is available for viewing on request.
