A rare original Guinness poster from the famous series designed by the artist John Gilroy, My Goodness, My Guinness, 1935. During Gilroy’s long association with Arthur Guinness, Son & Co. Ltd., he created many of the company’s most memorable posters, often featuring zoo animals in comic poses. This image, of an exasperated zookeeper chasing a sealion who has stolen his pint of Guinness, was one of the first. Superb large format, pre-war, Guinness poster in excellent conserved condition.
