An original London Transport travel poster, Industrial archaeology. Merton Waterwheel, by the English painter, printmaker, and designer Richard Bawden, 1969. The poster promotes the London Transport publication Industrial Archaeology, which suggested “exploratory days out by bus, Underground or Green Line Coach”. The design features a superb illustration of the historic water wheel, which has been turning on the River Wandle in South London since 1885.
