An original poster of The Peacock Skirt, an 1893 illustration by Aubrey Beardsley, published by Studio 5 in about 1969. Beardsley’s provocative and somewhat ‘trippy’ drawings (originally published to illustrate Oscar Wilde's one-act play Salome in 1894), chimed with the counter-culture mood of the late 1960s and were much reproduced at the time. This very large, and beautifully printed, poster came from the collection of a London printer and may have been a proof with larger than normal margins.
