This beautifully produced publication was published by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway to celebrate a series of recently issued posters commissioned from members of the Royal Academy, 1926. The series, which was devised by renowned poster artist Norman Wilkinson, was a huge success with the travelling public and art critics at the time. The publication features an essay by Sir Martin Conway, The Elevation of Poster Art, together with 18 tissue guarded illustrations of poster designs by Norman Wilkinson, Maurice Greiffenhagen, Julius Olsson, Stanhope Forbes, George Clausen and others.
