Half the Empire East of the Suez
Frederick Charles Herrick? An original poster published by the Empire Marketing Board (EMB), stressing the importance of the Suez Canal for British trade, c. 1928. The poster would have been displayed alongside a pictorial poster showing the preparation of Copra (a coconut by-product), possibly E. A. Cox’s Empire’s Copra (1928). Although unsigned, the central ship motif looks very similar to contemporary work by leading British poster artist Frederick Herrick. A higher resolution image is available for viewing on request.
