An original, and very rare, wartime propaganda poster, Salute The Soldier. Save More Lend More, designed by Abram Games on behalf of the National Savings Committee, 1944. First released in a smaller 10 x 15 inch format (much to Games' annoyance!), the Double Crown (30 x 20 inch) version offered here was printed in very limited numbers.

This copy comes direct from the estate of the artist and is hand singed by Games in pencil on the reverse. A superb modernist design.

The National Savings Committee was a government body that encouraged people to save money that could then be used by the state to fund budget deficits and finance the war effort.

Abram Games was, of course, one of Britain’s greatest graphic designers and the only artist to be designated an Official War Poster Artist. During the Second World War he designed over 100 posters for the British war effort.
